Tararuas:
Pretty much most walks in the Tararua Ranges other than those listed. Why? They're mostly steep, slippery and a lot of routes
rather than tracks, not young child friendly material. There's a lot of diversions around slips and washouts which usually
involve scrambling. Unless you have a lot of tramping experience and are well equipped it's generally a place to avoid.
Specifically:

Waiopehu Track - too much scrambling to make it safe coming back down.
- Ohau Gorge Track is do-able but there's
a few washed out areas where you have to jump over gaps in the track.
Ruahines:
Wharite
Peak track - it's a scramble up and a scramble down.
Kapiti Coast:
Paekakariki Escarpment
Track. Why? It's on a very narrow track along a cliff with a vertiginous drop down to state highway 1 below, exposed to wind
which adds to the fun of trying to stay on the track and not plummet to your death...
